Office Tour | Utilising a Small Space

It feels so good to earn dollar from the comfort of my own home but often working from home can blur the lines between work and leisure. It's almost impossible to completely switch off from a job when where you work is also where you eat, sleep and supposedly unwind.
I took to Pinterest a few weeks ago looking for ways to utilise small spaces and turn them into an office environment.. A trip to Ikea and a few floating shelves later and this is what I had! I created a space I can go to each day that inspires me and keeps me motivated.

The desk is placed in quite a small corner so there isn't a lot of natural light so I tried to keep everything white to emphasise a light and airy atmosphere. I also placed some shelves above the desk to add storage and also make the space appear bigger. A desktop computer is next on my list as having a laptop can often mean slipping back into bad habits (working from bed at 2am..)

Where to purchase everything:
Desk - Argos (Door Knobs - Homebase)
Chair - Argos
Shelves - Homebase
Black frames - Ikea
Checkered frame - Homesense
Black storage box - Ikea
Enamel jug vase - Ikea
Marble tea light holder - Ikea
Lamp - Homebase
Silver camera - Next
Striped blanket - Ikea
Initial candle - Asda
White jar candle - Yankee Candle
Morning Sunshine mug - Primark
Notebooks - Home Bargains, Marks & Spencer

I've enjoyed seeing this little space come together over the past few weeks and I'm so pleased with the outcome, especially considering how inexpensive it was. I've also got a new found love for interior blogs and Pinterest. I recently persuaded my mother to give blogging a go and she's sharing her tips and tricks on how she's furnished our home.. Give it a browse here!
