About a year ago I wrote a blog post talking about my top five red lipsticks so it was about time I shed some light on my favourite nude lips. I struggled so much to find the perfect nude as I think it's so dependant on your skin tone, hair colour and even your personal style. I own around 30 nude lipsticks and these are the only five I gravitate to. Just like my top five red lipsticks, most are a matte finish - Sorry in advance if you like that glossy look, I'm not about that life.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi & Stockholm - THE perfect nude shades! The consistency of these lip creams are a delight, so buttery smooth to apply and then SO matte once they've dried. The only fault I can find is that they start to flake off after a few hours wear. However, for only £5.50 each I can definitely live with that.

MAC Velvet Teddy - Possibly the most iconic nude on the market so I couldn't not include it? If you're looking for that effortless 90s girl look then this is the colour for you.

YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush in Moca Garconne - Something a little different as it can be used for both your lips and cheeks (I've only ever used it as a lip product) but this applies so creamy to the lips and despite not being quite as matte as others, it makes a nice change and looks perfect on a pale-r skin tone (ME!).

NARS Audacious in Vanessa - The first nude lipstick that answered all my prayers - at last I had finally found a nude that suited my skin tone and the coverage was perfect, lasting all day (even after numerous lattes have been consumed). It may be the least matte of the bunch but it's nothing a little bit of translucent powder over the top can't solve.
