An Autumn Escape to Bluestone Resort Wales

I just returned from a trip to Bluestone Resort in Pembrokeshire and it yet again did not disappoint. In fact, it manages to get better with every visit. It was my first time staying at the resort during Autumn and it was just as picturesque and perfect as I expected.
The cosy wooden lodges are dotted around acres of unspoilt scenery and with brown and orange leaves scattered around, it complimented the whole resort
perfectly. During our stay the sun was out constantly but the air was cold and crisp enough to remind you that Autumn is well and truly upon us. I've decided I'm going to talk through my trip in daily segments as I tried to jam as much into the week as possible and truly make the most of what was on offer.

MONDAY 17TH OCTOBER
We hit the road on Monday afternoon but first stopped off in Waitrose and Lidl for supplies for our lodge - complete necessities of course like Champagne, Truffles and Camembert (in all seriousness though, the lodges include fully equipped kitchens so it's lovely to stock up on cooking essentials and get together and cook up a storm if you're feeling an evening in). We arrived at around 4:30pm where we were shown to our Ramsey Lodge. We've stayed in this particular lodge before and it is perfect for us. It's designed as upside down living so the bedrooms are downstairs and the living areas are upstairs so you can fully appreciate the views on offer from all the windows!
Once we had settled in, we dropped our car back to the car park (Bluestone is all about free range fun so to make it quieter and also more safe, it has a no car policy but allows you to park at your lodge when checking in and out to make it easier to get settled). We then hired our golf buggy and had a roam around the resort to find our bearings before heading back to our lodge for the evening. I couldn't wait to get the bath running as soon as I returned and I sat in there for an hour or so enjoying a glass of bubbly before we both sat in front of the TV for the rest of the evening over indulging on cheese and chocolate. This is totally acceptable as we were on holiday, right?!

TUESDAY 18TH OCTOBER
Luke woke up before me on Tuesday morning and whipped open the fully black out curtains to views of our patio and acres of greenery in the distance. We sat with breakfast in bed for a few hours admiring the serenity of it all before planning our day ahead. We headed about 20 minutes down the road into Tenby, a local coastal town to browse the independent seaside shops and also walk along the beach. We also found a coffee shop selling Pumpkin Spice Latte's so I was obviously a very happy gal.
The coastal walks had got us hungry so when we returned to Bluestone we headed deep into the forest for food in my favourite restaurant Camp Smokey. The treehouse restaurant serves authentic barbecue food in a wooden tree house with both a log fire and huge BBQ to toast marshmallows over. I opted for a classic burger whilst Luke went for pulled pork, both were delicious and filled us up nicely. The rest of the evening included more Autumnal walks around the resort and getting snug back at our lodge. I also need to mention the lodges are complete with complimentary wifi so as a social media fiend like myself, checking Twitter and Snapchat wasn't an issue.  The evening also included my second bath of the trip (also featuring champagne and chocolate again.. wo0ooops).
WEDNESDAY 19th OCTOBER
After a very snoozy lay in, Wednesday was all about the well spa AKA my favourite place on earth!! The spa has a huge selection of treatments available and the facilities leave you spoilt for choice with two saunas, two steam rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, outdoor terrace, relaxation room, salt room, ice room and experience showers. I always leave the Well Spa feeling like a new, refreshed and relaxed version of myself and I could not recommend it more.
After our afternoon at the spa we headed across to Ty Coffi (pronounced tea-coffee ironically but welsh for Coffee House) for indulgent hot chocolates and ice-cream before calling it a day and getting cosy in our lodge for the rest of the evening. We decided to stay in for the rest of the night and ended up making a pasta bake and watching GBBO! The most heavenly and relaxing day possible.
THURSDAY 20th OCTOBER
On Thursday morning we cooked up a super indulgent breakfast of sausage, eggs, bacon, toast and of course, coffee. Luke actually popped to the local shop located in the village within Bluestone for a few supplies first thing and managed to find a Starbucks iced coffee to satisfy the Starbucks-loving-city-girl within me. Once we were all full up we headed into Narberth town to explore some of the independent shops and look for unique pieces. Narberth is full of small gift stores selling quirky and unusual pieces which make perfect Christmas ideas. After a few hours shopping we headed back to Bluestone where we toasted some marshmallows back at Camp Smokey before also having a swim around the Blue Lagoon. I'm 21 years old but the water slides at the Blue Lagoon get the better of me every time and I turn into a big kid without fail on each visit!
FRIDAY 21st OCTOBER
Friday sadly meant it was time to say goodbye to our cosy lodge, hand back our buggy and check out. Of course, we couldn't leave without a last minute return to The Well Spa. It was a bitter sweet few hours as we felt completely relaxed but knew it was almost time to say goodbye to the most perfect Autumn escape.
On our drive home we decided to stop off in Carmarthen which was around 45 minutes from Bluestone where we stopped for Lunch and also a look around the shops. Carmarthen has less independent shops and more chain like places which after a week in rural Wales was actually quite pleasant for a city girl like myself.

Bluestone truly has something on offer for everyone. If you're a couple looking for a relaxing getaway then it's perfect but if you're more of a thrill seeker theres also plenty of outdoor activities to get your adrenalin pumping. There is something here for ALL your family and friends and I strongly believe it is impossible to go to Bluestone and not enjoy yourself.
