Log Cabin Lovin' at Wareham Forest Lodge Retreat

I thought about not writing this blog post and keeping this hidden treasure my little secret but I can't not share this with you!! Especially after featuring it so heavily on my social media! I've received quite a few direct messages and emails this week asking me about my recent trip to the countryside and where I was staying so it would be rude not to share this little gem with you.

We had set aside a long weekend at the end of February to road trip into the countryside. We searched the internet for hours on end trying to find the perfect location and then we found Darwin Escapes. They had luxury lodges dotted all around the UK and we found the perfect one for us in Dorset in the South West of England called Wareham Forest Lodge Retreat

We were so impressed from the second we arrived. The roads leading up to it where long and winding and the air was so fresh and crisp, exactly what you would expect from a country retreat.

Wareham Forest only opened a few months ago so everything is brand new, the grounds are pristine and nothing is out of place. We had the warmest welcome from reception when we arrived! The resort is relatively small and you get all the perks of a bespoke hotel/resort with those little touches that really go that extra mile to make your stay more special. When you check in your keys and wifi passwords are also provided in a little tin suitcase that is complimentary to keep after your stay.

The lodge was absolutely perfect - cosy yet luxurious. It was like a home away from home with a fully equipped kitchen, a master bedroom complete with dressing area and en-suite bathroom, a dining area, living room, bathroom and two twin bedrooms. There was also a terrace with garden furniture and hot tub, ready and waiting for us.

The lodge was decorated perfectly with modern amenities and neutral colours but the country-esque style decorations made it feel so warm and cosy!

As soon as we arrived, we turned the fire on right away and got into our complimentary fluffy robes and slippers to use during our stay. It wasn't long before we found ourselves popping open a bottle of champagne in the hot tub either.

When we arrived there was butter and a bottle of milk awaiting in the fridge for us and a loaf of bread in the kitchen. There was also complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and sugar. It was things like this little welcome hamper that made Wareham Forest extra special.

We decided to head into the nearest town that evening and do a little food shop to stock up in the lodge. We ended up cooking up a storm for breakfast, lunch and dinner most days. The kitchen also had a wine cooler so my champagne was always at the perfect temperature.

We had the perfect weekend lazing around our cosy lodge, cooking, taking walks around the grounds and relaxing in the hot tub. There was even a huge smart TV, complimentary wifi and a selection of board games to play. Wareham Forest have thought of everything to make your stay memorable and we loved it so much we're planning on returning again soon.

I couldn't recommend this place more, I also think it would be perfect for any season. It rained quite a bit whilst we were there but that didn't dampen it one bit, in fact it made snuggling up in a cosy lodge all the better!
